Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
This website, jaketrinder.com, is the personal site of Jake Trinder, founder of Views To Clients (V2C), based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, and the rights you have over it.
What we collect
- Email updates. If you subscribe, we collect your email address, the interests you tick (business growth, strategy careers, VideoCore free tools, speaking updates), the wording and version of the permission you gave, the date and time, and the page you subscribed from.
- Private enquiries. If you use the private enquiry page, we collect your name, work email, company, role, a company link, the scale band you choose, the type of enquiry and what you write. It goes to Jake directly, is used only to reply to you, and is never added to a mailing list.
- Media enquiries use the same form and handling as speaking enquiries below.
- Speaking enquiries. If you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, organisation, event details, audience, format and, if you choose to give it, a budget. If you tick the separate box for speaking updates, that choice is recorded as a marketing preference.
- Information collected automatically. The site sets no cookies. Our own first-party measurement records, for each visit, the page viewed, the referring site or campaign tag, the screen width and which buttons, videos or forms were used, so we can see which sources and pages lead to enquiries. It stores no name, email or IP address in the event log, and nothing is shared with advertising networks. To limit spam, a one-way hash of the visitor’s network address is held for up to a day and is never linked to the event log. The web host (IONOS) keeps standard server logs.
How we use it
- To send you the email updates you asked for, limited to the interests you chose.
- To respond to your speaking enquiry. An enquiry does not add you to any mailing list.
- To understand which content and routes on the site are useful, and to attribute enquiries to their source.
Our legal bases under UK GDPR are your consent (email updates and any optional marketing choice), the steps needed to respond to your enquiry (contract), and our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. We do not sell your personal data.
Connected businesses
Jake is the founder of Views To Clients (V2C) and is connected with VideoCore and Become a Strategist. Each of those sites has its own privacy policy and its own forms. Subscribing here does not enrol you in their mailing lists; a separate choice is always asked for. Where email preferences are held in one shared contact record across these businesses, your per-business choices and any global opt-out are respected on every send.
Third-party services on this site
- Video: the short silent clip in the homepage header is served from this site. Client case-study videos on the results page are hosted by Wistia and load only when you press play. Other videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you press play, at which point YouTube’s own privacy policy applies. Preview images are served from this site.
- Email delivery: enquiries and sign-ups are sent by this website’s own form handler to hello@jaketrinder.com, with a copy kept in a private log on our web host (IONOS, acting as our processor) so that nothing is lost. If an email platform is introduced for the updates list, it will be named here.
- Fonts: the heading typeface is served by Google Fonts, which may log your IP address when the font file is requested.
How long we keep it
Email subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe, after which your address is held on a suppression list so we do not email you again. Speaking enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months after the enquiry is closed, unless an engagement follows, in which case its own terms apply.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your interests on the email preferences page. To exercise any other right, email hello@jaketrinder.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Material changes to how subscriber data is used will be announced by email before they take effect.
